What is Myofascial Release for Pain Relief?
Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique using gentle sustained pressure into the fascial restrictions to decrease pain and increase range of motion.
This unique form of therapy is used to eliminate back pain, neck pain, fibromyalgia, headaches, TMJ, restriction of motion and many other aliments or diagnosis.

What is a Fascial Restriction?
Fascia is connective tissue which covers and interpenetrates our every muscle, bone, and nerves as well all our organs. From the functional point of view the fascia is a 3 dimensional web of continuous tissue that extends from the top of our head to the tip of the toes.
When fascia scars and hardens in one area, creating a fascial restriction, (following injury, inflammation, disease, surgery, etc), it can put tension on adjacent pain-sensitive structures in other areas of the body along with decrease fluid flowing through the area.
Therefore, creating decrease range of motion, tightness and pain in different areas of the body.
Treating Fascial Restrictions:
We have been highly trained using the “John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach” in treating the fascial system. We have an understanding of the facial system and how it works. We use only “hands-on” approach to eliminating your pain or increasing range of motion. Using our skills and years of experience we will release the fascial restrictions using sustained pressure for a period of time, allowing the fascia to elongate in a safe and gentle manner.
The source of the restriction most likely is in a different area than the symptom (or painful area) of your body. A good example of how the source is usually in a different area of the pain is a chronic low back pain client: although the low back is primarily involved, the client may also have significant discomfort in the neck. This is due to the gradual tightening of the muscles and fascial system. As the fascia tightness has crept its way up the back, eventually creating neck and head pain.
Experience shows that optimal resolution of the low back pain requires release of the fascia of both the back and neck; if the neck tightness is not also release it will continue to apply a “drag” in the downward direction until fascial restrictions and pain have again returned to the low back.
Therefore, Myofascial Release Therapy is a “Whole Body” approach to wellness.
We treat the whole body for optimal results!
