What is Lymph Drainage Therapy?
The lymphatic system is the drainage and support system for your immune functions. Proper flow of this system is critical for health and wellness.
The lymphatic system can become clogged or sluggish due to illness, disease, trauma or from damage due to surgery or severe injuries such as a crush injury. Sometimes the lymphatic system is disrupted with surgeries such as during a mastectomy or other cancer surgeries in which lymph nodes are removed.
Lymph Drainage Therapy is a hands on treatment that helps the lymphatic system drain. We work at finding stagnant areas or areas of congestion using what is termed; manual lymphatic mapping. We assess the flow and rhythm of the lymphatic system. We then work with the bodies system to help the flow reroute or to facilitate the bodies lymphatic pathways to flow better again.
We have worked to develop our skills in these areas specifically for the lymphatic system.
By improving the lymphatic flow we are able to reduce swelling, decrease pain, improve your mobility, increase the functioning of your immune system and improve your wellness.
The lymphatic system is embedded within the myofascial system. By working with both of these systems together we are more effectively able to relieve restrictions which allows more flow and elasticity to the body.
Lymph Drainage Therapy is highly effective for:
- Reducing Edema
- Reducing Pain
- Improves Joint Mobility
- Supports Immune System
- Decrease Fatigue
- Improve homeostasis and the state of being of the body
